Discuss this requirement

This is a reducing-balance estimate with equal monthly instalments and a constant interest rate. It excludes processing fees, insurance, taxes, prepayments and changes in interest rates. Lender calculations and rounding may differ. It is not a loan offer or an APR calculation.

UNDERSTAND THE NUMBERS

Three inputs. A more considered decision.

Loan amount

Enter the amount you expect to borrow after your own contribution. Set it to zero to clear the repayment estimate.

Interest rate

Enter a yearly or monthly rate as quoted. The monthly option converts by multiplying by 12 to show a nominal yearly rate. It is not an effective annual rate or APR.

Loan tenure

A longer term can reduce the monthly EMI while increasing total interest. Consider the monthly budget alongside the overall cost.

CALCULATOR QUESTIONS

Before you compare.

Does selecting monthly interest change the calculation?

The selected period changes how you enter and read the rate. Switching between yearly and monthly automatically converts the existing rate, so the estimate stays the same. Editing the rate changes the estimate.

What happens at 0% interest?

The monthly payment is the loan amount divided by the number of monthly instalments. No interest is added in this illustration.

Can I use this for every loan type?

This tool illustrates equal monthly instalments on a reducing balance. Interest-only payments, bullet repayments, overdrafts, moratorium periods and other structures need a different calculation. Ask the lender which repayment method applies.

Is the result a final lender quote?

No. The result depends on your inputs and excludes fees and product-specific conditions. Review the lender’s written repayment schedule and full terms before proceeding.
